Play and creative arts therapy and parenting support programmes for families, schools, children centres and organisations

Growing up is sometimes a real challenge with its facing all kinds of difficulties. By creating a safe, creative space, children and young people can begin to connect with difficult feelings, understanding the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and actions to feeling connected to others in their life.

We offer a range of different options including: play therapy (one to one and group sessions) and parent-child attachment mentoring individually and group.  All of these can build resilience and self-esteem, strengthen social skills, mental health and emotional well-being across different generations through talking, creative work and play.

Roots & Wings offers services of a certified play therapist and counsellor to work within schools, community centres, doctor surgeries, fostering agencies to support children and young people. Working through difficulties using play and creative arts therapy helps children and young people to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including anxiety, anger, bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, shyness, neglect, trauma and abuse. There is a growing need to provide mental health and emotional well-being interventions at the earliest possible stage to allow children and young people to grow and strengthen their wings to soar towards their potential and be the best that they can be.
